Three Hudson Valley Softball Players Cited by Region III
Jeff Beyer Earns Coach-of-the-Year Honors

Hudson Valley Community College softball coach Jeff Beyer has been named the Region III Coach-of-the-Year as voted on by the region's coaches. In addition, sophomore Stephanie Goodspeed (Lansingburgh/Lansingburgh High School), and freshmen Annemarie Nelson (East Greenbush/Columbia High
School) and Mindy McDonough (Lansingburgh/Lansingburgh High School) earned First Team All-Region accolades.
Beyer, of Scotia, guided the Lady Vikings to a 25-10-1 record in his second year at Hudson Valley. Including one year at Schenectady County Community College, Beyer's all-time coaching record is 68-27-1.
Goodspeed led Hudson Valley with a .453 (48-for-106) batting average. She had six doubles, three triples and 33 RBI. On the mound, Goodspeed was 14-6 with a 1.86 ERA. She struck out 122 batters in 124 innings.
Nelson hit .436 (48-for-110) with 23 extra-base hits and a team-high 34 RBI. She finished with 15 doubles, five triples and three home runs.
McDonough, Hudson Valley's lead-off hitter, hit .429 (45-for-105) and had a .523 on-base percentage. She scored 44 runs and had 28 RBI.
