Hudson Valley Softball Splits With DuPage

Hudson Valley Community College (3-5), ranked third in the preseason NJCAA Division III softball poll, split a doubleheader with second-ranked College of DuPage (IL) earlier today at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex. DuPage won the opener, 8-4 in nine innings, and Hudson Valley rebounded to win, 2-1, in the nightcap.

Sophomore pitcher Samantha Zotto (Troy/Troy High School) pitched a complete-game, three-hitter for Hudson Valley in the second game.

Trailing 1-0 entering the sixth inning, Hudson Valley scored two runs on four consecutive hits by freshmen Reality Price (East Greenbush/Columbia High School), Annemarie Nelson (East Greenbush/Columbia High School), Keri Walsh (Bethlehem/Bethlehem High School) and Dana Herchenroder (Voorheesville/Voorheesville High School). Nelson finished the game with two doubles.

Price, sophomore Stephanie Goodspeed (Lansingburgh/Lansingburgh High School) and freshman Mindy McDonough (Lansingburgh/Lansingburgh High School) each had two hits for the Lady Vikings in the opener.
