Hudson Valley Softball to Host Adirondack in Region III Tournament

The Hudson Valley Community College (27-6) softball team will open defense of its 2002 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region III Division III title when it hosts Adirondack Community College in the opening round of the Region III tournament on Tuesday, May 6. The start time will be announced on Monday.

Hudson Valley is the third seed while Adirondack enters the tournament as the No. 6 team. The winner will advance to the Region III final four in Corning on May 9-11. Monroe Community College earned the top seed in the eight team tournament. The winner of the Region III tournament will advance to the NJCAA Division III championship in Joliet, Illinois on May 15-17.

The Lady Vikings swept Adirondack in a doubleheader on April 30. Hudson Valley won the first game 11-3 and the nightcap 9-1.

Freshman Danielle Duggan (Saratoga Springs/Saratoga Springs High School) is hitting .452 (33-for-73) with two home runs and 26 RBI to lead the Hudson Valley attack this season.
