Softball Coach Needed At Hudson Valley

CONTACT: Jeff Foley (518) 629-8085

FOR RELEASE: Immediate, Friday, June 14, 2002

Hudson Valley Community College is currently looking to hire a head coach for its softball team, which placed second in the nation among Division III junior colleges in 2002. The search for the part-time position closes July 11.

The position is being filled because Chuck Sosnowski, who led the Lady Vikings to 37 wins and the national championship tournament this past season, is moving to St. Louis with his family.

"It's a shame to lose a coach of Chuck Sosnowski's caliber," said Drew Marrochello, Hudson Valley's athletics director. "We'll miss him, but he and his family have a great opportunity in St. Louis, and it's in their best interest to move. Hudson Valley Community College completely supports this, and we feel very fortunate to have had Chuck for two seasons. One of the measures of a good coach is whether or not they leave a program in better shape than it was when they came on board. And our softball program is in great shape thanks to Chuck's hard work."

Call Marrochello at (518) 629-7328 for more information about the coaching position. Or send a resume and cover letter to: Hudson Valley Community College, Director of Athletics, 80 Vandenburgh Avenue, Troy, N.Y. 12180.
