The Hudson Valley men's soccer team (2-1) defeated North Country Community College, 2-1, on Saturday, Sept. 11 at home to pick up its second consecutive win.

The Vikings took a one-goal lead on a Joe Lombardo (Orchard Park/Orchard Park) goal in the first five minutes of the match. It would not take long for the Saints of North Country to answer, as they tied the game with 34 minutes remaining in the first half. The Vikings would grab the lead back off a corner kick as Todd Van Alstyne (Chatham/Spencertown) scored in the midst of a scramble in front of the net at the 30-minute mark in the first half. The one-goal lead is all the Vikings would need as they played the Saints to a scoreless second half, resulting in the win.

The Vikings host Tompkins-Cortland Community College on Wednesday, Sept. 15 at 4 p.m.
