Men’s Soccer Wins 400th Game

The Hudson Valley Community College (9-7/7-6 Region III) men’s soccer team needed a win in its final regional game to qualify for the Region III Tournament, and came away with a 3-0 win at SUNY Delhi (9-3-2) on Thursday.
Freshman goaltender Trent Mendysa (East Greenbush/Columbia High School) stopped five shots in net for the Vikings to earn his second shutout of the season.
Sophomore Dinwal Gray (Jamaica) led the Vikings offensive attack with a goal and two assists. Freshmen Mike Ackerman (Castleton/Maple Hill High School) and Jerome Reynolds (Albany/Albany High School) also scored for the Vikings.
With the win, Hudson Valley earned the program’s 400th win. Hudson Valley’s men’s soccer program began in 1961 and has an all-time record of 400-261-46.
