Hudson Valley Men's Soccer Defeats Erie

Sophomore Mike Vooris (Castleton/Maple Hill High School) scored two goals to lead the Hudson Valley Community College (8-7-1) men's soccer team to a 3-1 win over Erie Community College (6-7) earlier today in Troy.

Vooris gave Hudson Valley a 1-0 lead, 15 minutes into the game, when he scored off an assist from freshman Tony Eaton (Latham/Shenendehowa High School).

Freshman Nick DiCarlo (Ballston Lake/Burnt-Hills Ballston Lake High School) then scored to put Hudson Valley up 2-0 six minutes later. His goal was assisted by freshman Craig Houck (Altamont/Berne-Knox-Westerlo High School).

The Vikings took a three-goal lead midway through the second half when Vooris scored his second goal of the day off an assist from sophomore Ryan Clair (Schenectady/Schenectady High School).

Sophomore goalie Joe Simon (Pittsford/Pittsford High School) made two saves for the Vikings.

Hudson Valley will travel to Ulster Community College on Wednesday, October 20.
