Hudson Valley Men's Soccer Defeats Fulton-Montgomery

The Hudson Valley Community College (6-5-1) men's soccer defeated Fulton-Montgomery Community College (3-11-1), 3-0, on Thursday afternoon in Troy.

Sophomore Don Govel (Guilderland/Guilderland High School) opened the scoring for the Vikings, 1:31 into the second half, when he took a cross from sophomore Ryan Clair (Schenectady/Schenectady High School) and put into the back of the net.

Govel then assisted on a goal by freshman Craig Houck (Altamont/Berne-Knox-Westerlo High School) with 28:58 remaining in the game.

Freshman Ali-Al Jabi (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa High School) added an insurance goal with 20:10 remaining in the game.

Sophomore goalie Joe Simon (Pittsfield/Pittsfield High School) stopped six shots to record the shutout for Hudson Valley.
