Hudson Valley Men's Soccer Falls to Herkimer

The Herkimer County Community College (3-0-1) men's soccer team, ranked second in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III poll, rallied for three second half goals to defeat ninth-ranked Hudson Valley Community College, 4-2, earlier today in Troy.

Hudson Valley (2-1-1) went up 2-0 in the first half on goals by sophomores Ryan Clair (Schenectady/Schenectady High School) and Bob DiFiore (Averill Park/Averill Park High School).

Herkimer cut its deficit to 2-1 with 12 minutes remaining in the opening half on the first of two goals in the game by freshman Dwight Barnett (Brooklyn). Freshman Ryan Santacrose (Endicott) and sophomore Ryan Forsberg (Endicott) each added second half goals for the Generals.

The Vikings will return to action on Wednesday, September 15, when they travel to SUNY Cobleskill for 4 p.m. contest.
