Men's Soccer Defeats Fulton-Montgomery

The Hudson Valley Community College men's soccer team ran its record to 10-4 on the season with a 3-0 win at Fulton-Montgomery Community College on Thursday. It is the fourth straight year the Vikings have reached the 10-win plateau.
After playing to a scoreless first half, Hudson Valley grabbed a 1-0 lead when freshman Mike Vooris (Castleton/Maple Hill High School) found the back of the net off an assist from sophomore Roberto Besso (Colonie/Colonie High School). The Vikings made it 2-0 on a penalty kick by sophomore Rafael Luna (Albany/Albany High School).
Freshman Javan Moore (Albany/Albany High School) gave Hudson Valley its final score off an assist from freshman James Prock (Waterford/Waterford-Halfmoon High School).
Freshman goalkeeper Joe Simon (Pittsfield, MA/Pittsfield High School) made five saves to record his sixth shutout of the season.
Hudson Valley, ranked 15th in the latest NJCAA Division III poll, will host Mohawk Valley Community College at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 11.
