Men's Soccer Splits Weekend Games

The Hudson Valley Community College (9-4) men's soccer team, ranked 13th in the latest NJCAA Division III poll, hit the road to take on two of the strongest teams in Region III last weekend. Hudson Valley suffered a 3-1 setback to sixth ranked Broome Community College (11-1-1) on Saturday and defeated Erie Community College (7-4-1), 2-1, on Sunday.

Sophomore Dan Farrell (Stillwater/Stillwater High School) scored the game-winning goal for Hudson Valley against Erie. His goal was assisted by sophomores Chris Jacubiak (Ballston Spa/Ballston Spa High School) and Roberto Besso (Colonie/Colonie High School). Sophomore Rafael Luna (Albany/Albany High School) scored the first goal for the Vikings.

Luna tallied the lone goal for Hudson Valley at Broome. Freshman Mike Vooris (Castleton/Maple Hill High School) assisted on the goal.

The Vikings will travel to Fulton-Montgomery Community College on Thursday, October 9. The game begins at 4 p.m.
