The Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball team (20-9) ended its season Saturday, Feb. 27 in the Region III Tournament after falling in the semi-finals to number-one seeded and eventual champion, Herkimer County Community College (31-2), 59-52. The Vikings won their quarter-final matchup against Schenectady the previous day, 86-70.

Carlos Pellott-Rivera (Carmel, Carmel) had a tremendous tournament as he scored 32 points and pulled down 12 rebounds against Schenectady, following up with a 27- point and 10- rebound performance against Herkimer. He was honored as an All-Tournament team selection for his efforts. Sophomore Ramel Alexander (Berkshire, Albany) averaged 16 points and 12.5 rebounds in the two contests. He ends his Hudson Valley career as number three on the All-Time Scoring list, and second in rebounds and steals for a career.

Ken Dagostino becomes only the second coach in the program's history to win 20 games in his first season.
