Post-Season Honors For Men’s Hoops

Justin Gallo (Brunswick/Lansingburgh HS) was named player of the year in the Mountain Valley Conference. Gallo was also selected first team all-region. The sophomore finished the season averaging 21.8 ppg and 6.5 rpg.

Datwan Hemingway (Albany/CBA) was a first team all-region and first team all-conference performer for the Vikings. Hemingway finished the season with 27 double-doubles averaging 19.2 ppg and 13.9 rpg.

Emanuel Mayben (Troy/Troy HS) was selected first team all-region and second team all-league. Mayben ran the offense all season long for the Vikings averaging 19.6 ppg, 9.5 apg, and 5.9 rpg.

Derick Faragon (Rotterdam Junction/Schenectady HS) was a third team all-league performer for Hudson Valley. The sophomore averaged 13.7 ppg and 7.2 rpg.

Coach Andre Cook was selected Region 3 coach of the year. In his fourth year Cook led the Vikings to a school record 30-1 season. The Vikings were Mountain Valley Conference champions for the first time since 2000. Hudson Valley was stopped in the regional semi-finals by SUNY Cobleskill. Cook has an overall record at Hudson Valley of 87-36 and he has led the Vikings to at least 20 wins in the last three seasons.
