Delhi Rallies to Defeat Hudson Valley

The SUNY Delhi men’s basketball team overcame a 10-point halftime deficit to defeat Hudson Valley Community College, 68-62, on Saturday in Delhi.

Hudson Valley struggled to put the ball in the net, hitting just 33.9 percent (19-of-56) of field goal attempts. Freshman guard Justin Gallo (Brunswick/Lansingburgh High School) finished with 19 points to lead Hudson Valley. Sophomore Kevin Goutos (Altamont/Guilderland High School) contributed nine points and nine rebounds.

Jonathan Myers and Brently Pearson each had 17 points for Delhi.


Hudson Valley (62): Justin Gallo 5-6-19, Rocco DiJohn 2-0-5, Ryne Luce 3-2-9, Derick Faragon 1-0-2, Maurice Lane 3-0-7, Zach Bye 1-0-2, Corey Harkins 2-4-9, Kevin Goutos 2-5-9, Totals: 19-17-62.

Delhi (68): Eddie Hood 4-3-13, Jonathan Myers 7-0-17, Neil St. Hill 2-0-4, Tyshawn Bierra 2-1-5, Dominique Crowder 2-0-5, Brently Pearson 7-0-17, Abar Miller 3-0-8, Totals: 27-4-68.

Three-point goals: Hudson Valley 7 (Gallo 3, DiJohn, Luce, Lane, Harkins); Delhi 10 (Hood, Myers 3, Crowder, Pearson 3, Miller 2).

Halftime: Hudson Valley led 39-29.
