Hudson Valley Hires Men's Basketball Assistant Coaches

Hudson Valley Community College Head Men's Basketball Coach Andre Cook announced today that Chris Jura, of Troy, and David Martin, of Hudson Falls, have been hired as assistant coaches for the 2004-05 season.

Jura played basketball at Hudson Valley from 1998 to 2000, averaging 10.3 points per game as a sophomore. He received an associate's degree in Individual Studies from Hudson Valley, and then continued his playing career at SUNY Plattsburgh where he earned a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education.

Martin played basketball under Cook at Hudson Falls High School before playing four years at The College of Saint Rose. He is scheduled to receive his bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Saint Rose this December. Martin has served as a counselor and assistant director at the Tigers Basketball Camps in Hudson Falls from 1998 to 2003.

Hudson Valley opens its 2004-05 campaign at 7 p.m. on Monday, November 1 at Cayuga Community College.
