TROY, November 17 – Thirteen Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball players made it into the scoring column against SUNY Morrisville this evening, propelling the Vikings to a 71-48 Mountain Valley Conference victory. Second-year Hudson Valley guard Kerey Johnson (Schenectady High) led all scorers with 14 points, all tallied in the first half.

Johnson, who also contributed four assists and a pair of steals, scored Hudson Valley's first 10 points. SUNY Morrisville hung close for the game's opening 14:30, trailing by just two before a Thomas Perren (Brotmanville, NJ) layup. Perren followed that up with a steal at midcourt and a thunderous dunk to put the Vikings up by six. Hudson Valley, who played turnover-free ball for the contest's first 14 minutes and committed just three turnovers in the first half, never looked back.

Playing every man off their bench, Hudson Valley held SUNY Morrisville to three-of-28 shooting from the field in the second half. Perren scored eight points and had eight rebounds. R.J. Mann (Canajoharie) had eleven points and seven boards. Kurt Bush (Newcomb-Minerva) had eights points and seven rebounds.

Hudson Valley improved to 4-0 with the win. SUNY Morrisville dropped to 4-3.
