Sage Defeats Hudson Valley 84-74

Sophomore guard Greg Plummer (Brooklyn/Transit Tech) finished with 31 points to lead the Sage College of Albany (8-3) men's basketball team to an 84-74 win over Hudson Valley Community College earlier tonight in Troy.

Sophomore guard Markael Brace (Albany/Albany High School) had 22 points and four assists to pace Hudson Valley (3-3). Freshman guard Tim Kindlon (Delmar/Bethlehem High School) added 16 points while freshman forward Allan Dickson (Troy/Troy High School) finished with 10 points.

Also finishing in double-figures scoring for Sage were sophomore guard Ryan Mauer (Pittsfield, MA/Saint Joseph) with 20 points, sophomore forward Marlon Marshall (Corona/Francis Lewis) with 13 points, and freshman forward Dudley Emmanuel (Hollywood, FL/McArthur) with 10 points.

Hudson Valley scored the first 12 points of the second half to take a 42-39 lead with 14:25 remaining in the game. The teams continued to trade buckets for the next six minutes before Sage went on a 10-0 run to take a 66-56 lead with seven minutes remaining. The Vikings would get no closer than seven points following that spurt.

Hudson Valley returns to action on Monday, December 2, when it travels to Clinton Community College for a 7 p.m. tilt.
