Several Hudson Valley Lacrosse Players Recognized

Several members of the Hudson Valley Community College lacrosse team were selected for end-of-season awards by Region III and the Mountain Valley Conference.

The Vikings' leading scorer, Rich Bamberger (St. John's, Brimfield, MA) was named Co-Mountain Valley Conference Player of the Year and also was given second-team All-Region III honors. Bamberger had an incredible 67 points, including 44 goals. Chris Gavitt (Columbia, Rennselaer), an extremely versatile player for the Vikings, also was a second-team All-Region III selection as a long pole middie. Goalie, Alan Hiltz (La Salle, Wynantskill), received Region III honorable mention for his work between the pipes. Hiltz showed up when it counted for the Vikings, especially as they made a run for their second consecutive Mountain Valley Conference Championship.

Casey Balzer (Columbia, Schodack), Troy Martin (Werribee Secondary, Melbourne, AUS), James Bryant (White Plains, White Plains) and Brian Ashline (Shaker, Watervliet) all were honored as All-Mountain Valley Conference selections.
