The Hudson Valley Community College lacrosse team (1-2) was defeated in a nail-biter by number-seven nationally-ranked Anne Arundel Community College on Wednesday, March 24, 11-9.

The Vikings were in a one-goal contest, down, 10-9 with less than a minute remaining, but a defensive lapse by Hudson Valley freed an Anne Arundel attacker for a game-clinching goal to make the final score 11-9.

Rich Bamberger (St. John's, Brimfield, MA) had a tremendous day offensively as he scored five of the Vikings' nine goals and assisted on two others. Casey Balzer (Columbia, Schodack) scored two goals and had an assist and Troy Martin (Werribee Secondary, Melbourne, Aus) added a goal and an assist.

The Vikings return to Troy to begin Region III play.
