The Hudson Valley Community College lacrosse team had its season come to an end with a 16-3 loss to top-seeded and defending national champion Onondaga Community College in the semifinals of the NJCAA Region III tournament in Herkimer.

Onondaga opened up an 8-0 after the first quarter and led, 14-0, at halftime. However, Hudson Valley outscored the Lazers, 3-2, over the final two frames.

Sophomore goaltender Ryan DeJordy (East Greenbush/Columbia High School) stopped 38 shots in net for the Vikings. Freshman Ryan DeSalvatore (Clifton Park/Columbia High School) and sophomores Rich Vazzana (East Greenbush/Columbia High School) and Ian MacMaster (Albany/LaSalle Institute) each scored a goal for Hudson Valley.

Under first year head coach Roger Manion, the Vikings finished the season with a 9-7 record and advance to the Region III semifinals for the first time since 1999.
