Hudson Valley Lacrosse Defeats Delhi

Hudson Valley Community College (4-5/3-3 Region III) scored eight unanswered goals in a 12-4 win over SUNY Delhi (2-4/2-3 Region III) in men’s lacrosse action this afternoon in Troy.

Hudson Valley held a 3-0 lead after the opening quarter before Delhi stormed back to tie the game at 3-3 with 5:28 remaining. However, the Vikings responded with four goals over the final 4:33 of the half to take a 7-3 lead into the break. Hudson Valley would then pull away with the first five goals of the second half.

Sophomore Ian MacMaster (Albany/LaSalle Institute) and freshman Will Wilson-Jackson (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa High School) each netted three goals for Hudson Valley. Sophomore Rich Vazzana (East Greenbush/Columbia High School) added two goals and three assists and sophomore Nick DeMarco (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa High School) contributed two goals.

Sophomore goalie Ryan DeJordy (East Greenbush/Columbia High School) stopped 11 shots in net for the Vikings.
