Four Hudson Valley Lacrosse Players Earn Postseason Honors

Four Hudson Valley Community College lacrosse players garnered postseason honors for their performance during the 2004 season.
Sophomore midfielder Joe Whaley (Schenectady/Schenectady High School) and sophomore defenseman Andrew Dushensky (Colonie/Colonie High School) each earned Second Team All-Region III honors. Whaley had 29 goals and 21 assists on the season. He scored game-winning overtime goals against SUNY Cobleskill and Finger Lakes Community College. Dushensky anchored the Hudson Valley defense, which allowed 12.2 goals per game. He also scored three goals and had five assists.
Sophomore attack Eric DeSalvatore (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa High School) and sophomore midfielder Willie Munoz (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa High School) each were named to the Mountain Valley Conference First Team. DeSalvatore led the Vikings with 60 points (41 goals, 19 assists). Munoz had 24 goals and 18 assists.
Hudson Valley finished the year with an 8-3 record - its best winning percentage since 1993. The Vikings finished second in the Mountain Valley Conference and advanced to the NJCAA Region III Tournament for the first time since 1999.
