Hudson Valley Lacrosse Downs Cayuga for Sixth Straight Win

Sophomore Eric DeSalvatore (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa High School) scored seven goals to lead the Hudson Valley Community College lacrosse team to a 13-5 win over Cayuga Community College in Troy.

Hudson Valley has won six consecutive games and is 7-2 on the season. The Vikings will host Jefferson Community College at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 25. Cayuga falls to 5-7.

DeSalvatore scored five of his goals in the first half, helping the Vikings jump out to a 7-3 lead at the break.

Freshman Andrew Germain (Averill Park/Christian Brothers Academy) added three goals, and sophomore Jon McCardle (Delmar/Bethlehem High School) chipped in two goals for the Vikings. Sophomore Willie Munoz (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa High School) contributed four assists.

Freshman goalie Joe Coppola (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa High School) made 15 saves in net for the Vikings, who allowed their fewest goals of the season.
