Hudson Valley Hockey Starts Perfect

The Hudson Valley Community College hockey team began its season with two wins, Oct. 23 and 24, beating the Boston Blackhawks and the RPI Club team, 3-1 and 5-2, respectively.
In game one, Ken Lancto got the scoring started for the Vikings. David Gordon followed with another Hudson Valley goal to make it 2-0. After a Blackhawk goal, Gregg McQuiggan sealed the victory, scoring with seven minutes left in the contest.
In the second matchup in as many days, Hudson Valley jumped on the RPI Club team scoring four goals in the first two periods. Scores came from Sean Starvish, David Gordon and two goals from Tim Zimmerman. Evan Stenberg added another in the 5-2 victory. Goalie Justin Barnard saw 38 shots in the two games and only gave up three goals.
The team will be back on the ice, Friday, Oct. 30, against the Maine Moose at Hudson Valley’s Conway Arena at 7 p.m.
