Ice Hockey Defeats County College of Morris

The Hudson Valley ice hockey team (13-3-2) defeated the County College of Morris Friday, 6–1, at the Conway Ice Arena in Troy.

The Vikings received goals from five different players, including a pair by Paul Chamberlain (Niskayuna HS/ Niskayuna), who now leads the team with 27 points. Freshman forward Sean Starvish (East Windsor HS/East Windsor, CT) led the offensive attack with two goals and an assist. Also, with six minutes remaining in the game, freshman forward James Collins (Saratoga HS/Saratoga Springs) netted his first career collegiate goal when he tipped in a shot from the point.

Sophomore goalkeeper Jonathan Morales (Grossmont HS/ San Diego CA) recorded 15 saves on 16 shots. Morales improved his overall season record to 6-1.

The Vikings are back in action when they when they travel to face Region III rival Mohawk Valley this Tuesday, Feb. 3. The Vikings defeated the Hawks 5-0 earlier this season at the Conway Ice Arena.
