Ice Hockey Battles to 1-1 Tie

The Hudson Valley men’s hockey team (12-3-2) traveled to Vermont this past Sunday to face the Middlebury Panthers JV team. After two 25 minute halves and five minute overtime, the 1 – 1 deadlock could not be broken.

Brendan Costin (Lynnfield HS/ Lynnfield, MA) scored for the Vikings midway through the first half with assist credited to Adam Rakoczy (CBA/ Clifton Park). Sophomore goalie Justin Barnard (LaSalle Institute/Albany) stepped between the pipes to stop 29 of 30 shots.

The Vikings will host Broome Community College this Wednesday, Jan. 28 at the Conway Ice Arena on the Hudson Valley campus. The Vikings are 2 – 0 this season against the Hornets and are looking to sweep the season series. The opening face-off is at 7 p.m.
