Vikings Ice Hockey Continue Winning

The Hudson Valley ice hockey team defeated the Broome Community College Hornets, 4-2, Wednesday evening at the BCC Ice Center, in Broome County. With their 5th straight win, the hockey team improved their overall record to 11 – 1 and 6 – 1 in Region III.

The Vikings balanced attack led to goals from four different players. Mike Walsh (LaSalle Institute/East Greenbush) got the Vikings started six minutes into the first period on a feed from Eric Olds (CBA/ Scotia). Joe Camiolo (Pope John XXIII HS/ East Boston, MA) and sophomore captain Nick Kemp (El Segundo HS/ El Segundo, CA) tallied in the second period and Paul Chamberlain (Niskayuna HS/ Niskayuna) put the game away with a late goal in the third. Kevin Bowdidge (Stoneham HS/ Stoneham, MA) was solid in net again, stopping 12 of the 14 shots he faced.

The Vikings wrap up the first half of their season on the road this Saturday, Dec.13, when they travel west to face the Erie Community College Cats. The game is slated to begin at 7:40 p.m. at the Leisure Rinks in West Seneca.
