Vikings Still Perfect At Home

The Hudson Valley ice hockey team (10-1) remained unbeaten at home with two wins over the Maine Moose Super Elites this past weekend at the Conway Arena in Troy.
Saturday night, the Vikings defeated the Moose 8 -1, dominating every aspect of the game. The night was highlighted by a barrage of goals and assists by Section II graduates. Mike Walsh (LaSalle HS/ East Greenbush) led the attack with two goals and one assist, Nick Phelps (LaSalle HS/ Nassau) chipped in with a goal and two assists and CBA grad Adam Rakoczy (CBA/ Clifton Park) added three assists. Former Section II standouts Eric Olds (CBA/Scotia) and Paul Chamberlain (Niskayuna HS/ Niskayuna) each tallied once for the Vikings. Kevin Bowdidge (Stoneham HS/ Stoneham, MA) stopped 18 of the 19 shots he faced.
Sunday’s game had less offensive production, as the Vikings beat the Moose 3 - 1. Paul Chamberlain (Niskayuna HS/ Niskayuna) and Sean Starvish (East Windsor HS/ East Windsor, CT) each tallied once and added an assist. Jonathan Morales (Grossmont HS/ San Diego, CA) stopped 25 shots.
Hudson Valley will next travel to Binghamton, NY to face Broome Community College this Wednesday, Dec. 10, at 7 p.m. The Vikings defeated the Hornets earlier this season, 9 – 4, at the Conway Arena.
