Hudson Valley Hockey Falls to Monroe

The Hudson Valley Community College (4-7-2) ice hockey team dropped a 4-2 decision to Monroe Community College (10-2-1) today in Troy.
Monroe received first period goals from Tom Pappa, Jeff Osler and Matt McNeil took a 3-0 lead into the first intermission.
Hudson Valley responded with a pair of power play goals in the second period. With the Vikings two men up, sophomore Sean Caruso (Waterford/LaSalle Institute) score the first Hudson Valley goal just 2:19 into the second period.
Sophomore Brian Pekala (West Sand Lake/Averill Park High School) then cut Hudson Valley’s deficit to one goal when he scored with 11:08 remaining in the second period.
Monroe would put the game away with less then four minute remaining in the third period when Andy Orsini scored on a breakaway.
