Hudson Valley Hockey Defeats Mohawk Valley

The Hudson Valley Community College (3-8/3-5 Region III) ice hockey team exploded for four goals in the third period in a 5-2 win over Mohawk Valley Community College (4-5/1-5 Region III) tonight in Troy.

Freshman forward Kevin Fairchild (East Greenbush/Columbia High School) finished with two goals, including a short-handed goal that put Hudson Valley ahead 2-1 early in the third period.

Sophomore Drew Reynolds (Troy/LaSalle Institute) added a goal and two assists. Freshmen Todd Barnes (Port Ewen/Kingston High School) and Sean Caruso (Waterford/LaSalle Institute) also scored for Hudson Valley.

Sophomore goalie Dan Silver (Soldotna, AK/Kenai High School) stopped 18 shots in net for the Vikings.

Hudson Valley will return home Friday, December 1 to face Minot State University-Bottineau. The opening face-off is set for 6:30 pm.
