Hudson Valley Hockey Defeats Mohawk Valley

Sophomore Jeff Beecher (South Glens Falls/South Glens Falls High School) has scored over 40 goals in his career at Hudson Valley Community College but none were more important than his game-winning power-play goal with 3:06 remaining in the game to lift the Vikings to a 4-3 win over Mohawk Valley Community College (10-14) earlier tonight in Troy.
With the win, Hudson Valley (10-11-2) has assured itself a spot in the NJCAA championship tournament in Buffalo on March 3-5.
Sophomore Chris Gramlich (Philadelphia/Bishop McDevitt High School) scored two goals in the first 3:38 of the third period to give Hudson Valley the lead.
Freshman Nick Tutino (Whitesboro), who scored all three of the Hawks goals in the game, tied the game on the power play with 9:41 remaining in the game.
Freshman Kevin O’Connell (Schenectady/Colonie High School) also scored for the Vikings.
Freshman Devon Lent (Saratoga Springs/Saratoga Springs High School) stopped 28 shots in net for Hudson Valley.
