Ice Hockey Defeats Morris 8-2

The Hudson Valley Community College (6-3-1) ice hockey team ran its unbeaten streak to four games with an 8-2 win at County College of Morris (3-12) on Sunday night.
Eight different players scored for the Vikings, who led 4-1 after the opening period. Leading the way was freshman forward Stephen Barrett (Claverack/Hudson High School), who finished with a goal and two assists. Sophomore forward Joel Crouse (Oswego/Oswego High School).
Also scoring for Hudson Valley were freshmen defensemen Jeff Weaver (Abington, PA/Uppermoreland High School) and Richard McKenna (Monroe/Don Bosco Prep), freshmen forwards Joe Evers (Albany/LaSalle Institute), Kenny Holvig (New City/Clarkstown South High School) and Joe Jeram (Latham/Shaker High School), and sophomore forward Kevin Moteyunas (Syracuse/Cicero-North Syracuse High School).
Freshman goaltender Kevin Boomhower (Troy/Troy High School) stopped 17 of the 19 shots he faced in his first start for Hudson Valley.
Hudson Valley will host Erie Community College at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14.
