Hudson Valley Hockey Team, Which Includes Seven Recruits
From Saratoga High School, Schedules Media Day

The hockey team at Hudson Valley Community College will hold a Media Day on Monday, October 30. Players and coaches will be available for interviews and photographs from 4:15 to 5:15 p.m. at the Robert M. Conway Jr. Ice Arena, which is located in Hudson Valley's McDonough Sports Complex.

Head coach Ron Kuhl is counting on serious production from his four returnees: Defenseman Scott Bazzano (Seton Catholic), goalie Brendan Dwyer (Arlington), defenseman Kevin Graber (Troy) and forward Mike Griffiths (Bethlehem). But the squad's fortune could be in the hands of rookies.

Kuhl is especially excited about a group of incoming players from Saratoga High School. Mike Paine, Chris Paine, Adam Finkin, Phil Usas, Kyle Reddon and Mike Santamoor all played on Saratoga's 1999 state championship team.

Other freshman expected to have an impact include: Brian Dudek (Pearl River), B.J. Sheehan (Albany Academy), Jim Sturges (East Hampton, MA), Dean Vandervort (Northern Burlington, NJ) and Jason Vasco (Christian Brothers Academy).

Hudson Valley Community College, located in Troy, offers more than 50 degree and certificate programs in four academic divisions; Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and Liberal Arts and Sciences. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, Hudson Valley Community College has an enrollment of more than 9,000 students each year, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and worker retraining.
