The Hudson Valley Community College (2-7) hockey team allowed three first period goals and was unable to recover as it suffered a 4-1 setback to Monroe Community College (5-2-1) earlier tonight in Troy.

Sophomore forward Brian Mohan (Waterford/LaSalle Institute) brought the Vikings to within two goals, 3-1, with 14 minutes remaining in the second period, but Hudson Valley was unable to get any closer as Monroe scored its final goal into the empty net with 59 seconds remaining in the contest. Sophomore defenseman Matt Luther (Guilderland/Guilderland High School) assisted on the Mohan goal.

Freshman goaltender Sean George (Albany/Christian Brothers Academy) stopped 37 shots for Hudson Valley in the loss.
