Hudson Valley Football Adds Assistant Coaches

Hudson Valley Community College Head Football Coach Bob Jojo announced that John Barber of Schuylerville, Jared Bongo of Waterford, David Murello of Clifton Park, and Thomas Swicicki, Jr. of Levittown have been hired as assistant coaches for the 2004 season.

Barber, who was a tight end at Hudson Valley in 1987 and 1988, has been the offensive coordinator at Schuylerville High School since 2000. He will coach Hudson Valley's quarterbacks.

Bongo was a four-year starting offensive lineman at Saint Lawrence University. He served as an assistant coach at Ogdensburg High School last year, and will coach Hudson Valley's running backs.

Murello, who will coach the linebackers, played four years at Alfred University. He was Alfred's defensive ends coach last season.

Swicicki was an All-Northeast Conference performer at offensive guard for the University at Albany last season. He will coach the outside linebackers.

Hudson Valley, which finished 8-2 last season and advanced to The Graphic Edge Bowl, opens its 2004 season on September 4 at Navy Prep.
