Sophomore running back Emmanuel Marc (Spring Valley/Spring Valley High School) carried the ball 25 times for a career-high 268 yards to lead Hudson Valley Community College to a 29-16 win over Dean College earlier today in Franklin, Massachusetts. The 268 yards is the second best rushing day in school history.

With today's performance, Marc established a new school record for career rushing yards with 1,968 yards. He surpassed Dennis Greene, who rushed for 1,724 yards in 1971-72. He also set a school record with 301 career carries. Greene held the previous record with 292 carries.

Hudson Valley improves its record to 3-1 and 1-1 in the Northeast Football Conference. Dean falls to 1-3 and 0-1 in the NFC.

Hudson Valley took a 6-0 lead midway through the first quarter when sophomore quarterback Ryan Gribulis (Kerhonkson/Rondout Valley High School) found sophomore fullback Atiba Taylor (Spring Valley/Ramapo High School) over the middle for an 80-yard touchdown pass.

With the Vikings clinging to a 6-3 lead and pinned at their own five yard line, Marc found a seam off left tackle and exploded for a 95 yard touchdown run to give Hudson Valley a 13-3 advantage with 7:35 remaining in the third quarter.

Hudson Valley stretched its lead to 20-3 on its next drive when Gribulis hit tight end J.J. Nesheiwat (Poughkeepsie/Arlington High School) with a 17-yard touchdown strike. Gribulis completed five of 12 passes on the day for 128 yards and two touchdowns.

Marc capped his record-setting day with a 36-yard touchdown run with 5:17 remaining in the game, putting away the host Bulldogs. Marc's second touchdown of the day gives him eight for the season and 20 for his career.

The Vikings amassed 510 yards of total offense on the day. Freshman running back Malcolm Jackson (Elizabeth, NJ/Elizabeth High School) rushed for a career-high 79 yards on 15 carries.

Quarterback Caleb Mackey (Hinsdale, MA/Waheonah Regional High School) completed 20 of 40 passes for 222 yards and one touchdown to lead Dean. Dujuan Johnson (Roanoke, VA/Patrick Henry High School) caught 10 passes for 113 yards.
