Bowling Teams Take First In One Tournament Over The Weekend

The Hudson Valley Community College men's bowling team finished second out of 14 teams and the women third out of four teams on Saturday, February 12 at the Boulevard Bowl Classic in Schenectady.

The men's team of Chris Strom (Columbia/East Greenbush) and Will Coons (Guilderland/Guilderland) finished third with a total of 1411. Megan Mormino (Niskayuna/Niskayuna) and Nicole Sheldon (Columbia/East Greenbush) teamed up in the doubles event and finished second with a total of 1191.

The following day, both the men and women took first place at the Schenectady County Invitational Tournament. The men finished first out of 13 teams and the women first out of four. Chris Strom and Steve Black (Lansingburgh/Troy) teamed up to finish first in the doubles event with a total of 1311. Megan Mormino and Nicole Sheldon competed in a doubles event for a second consecutive day and finished second with an 1182. John Pulver (Colonie/Albany) finished second in singles with a 706 and for the women, Mormino finished third with a 606 series. Nicole Sheldon was the All-Events winner with a total of 1220.

The final conference match will be hosted by Schenectady County Community College on Wednesday, Feb. 16 at Boulevard Bowl at 3:30 p.m.
