The Hudson Valley Community College baseball team (8-8) split with Fulton-Montgomery Community College (7-10) on Saturday afternoon. The Vikings lost game one, 13-11, but came back in game two to pick up the win, 8-4.

The Vikings fell behind big in game one and their late rally fell short. Hudson Valley scored nine runs in the final three innings, but the Raiders held on for the win. Brett Fenton (Catholic Central/Troy) led the team going 3-3 at the plate, including a double, triple and two RBIs. Eric Mueller (Bethlehem/Glenmont) added three hits, and Cameron Bow (Mt. Anthony Union/Shaftsbury, VT) recorded two hits and two RBIs.

Franklin Miller (Ballston Spa/Ballston Spa) went 6 1/3 innings, striking out 13 and allowing only one earned run in game two. Hudson Valley took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on an RBI single by Charles Parslow (Fonda-Fultonville/Fonda). The Raiders scored three unearned runs in the bottom half of the inning, but the Vikings responded with four runs in the top of the third, three of which came on a home run by Anthony Scaccia (Voorheesville/Voorheesville). Fenton, Bow and Mueller combined for seven hits to cap off their impressive performances in the doubleheader.

The baseball team hosts Fulton-Montgomery tomorrow for a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
