The Hudson Valley Community College baseball team (11-9) split with Mohawk Valley Community College (15-7) on Thursday afternoon. The Vikings fell 6-5 in eight innings in game one, but took game two 3-1 to earn the split.

Hudson Valley rallied in the top of the seventh inning when Alex Lushkevich (Saratoga/Saratoga Springs) scored on a sacrifice fly from John Craig (Shenedehowa/Clifton Park). The Vikings took a 2-1 lead in the sixth inning when Andy Kozak (Sidney/Sidney) scored on an RBI single from Scaccia. The Vikings tacked on another run in the seventh to get the two-run win. Cooper McGowan (Ballston Spa/Ballston Spa) came in relief to earn the victory on the mound, allowing no runs and striking out five. Kozak continues his tear at the plate going 3-5 on the day with a double, two RBIs, two runs scored and two stolen bases. He was hit by pitch twice and also issued a walk to reach base safely six times between the two games. Kozak is now batting a Nation leading .600 on the season.
