Hudson Valley's Rich Guillod Named NJCAA Region III Male Athlete of the Week

Troy, NY – Hudson Valley Community College shortstop Rich Guillod (Closter, NJ/Northern Valley) has been named the NJCAA Region III Male Athlete of the Week for the period ending April 27.

In six games last week, Guillod hit .450 (9-20), including three doubles, one triple, one home run and 10 RBI. In a doubleheader sweep of Broome Community College on Sunday, he went 6-for-7 with six runs batted in.

In 26 games this season, the sophomore infielder is batting .471, with seven doubles, four triples, four home runs and 31 RBI. He is ranked first on the team in batting and also leads the Vikings in hits (40), triples, RBI and slugging percentage (.788). In Region III, Guillod is ranked second in hitting and sixth in RBI.

Hudson Valley’s game versus Onondaga Community College scheduled for 4 p.m. today has been postponed because of rain. The game has been re-scheduled for tomorrow at 3 p.m. at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium.
