The Hudson Valley Community College baseball and softball teams have qualified for their respective NJCAA Region III Division III tournaments and will each host opening round games on Tuesday, May 8.

Hudson Valley's (28-13) softball team has drawn the second seed and will host seventh seeded Alfred State College at 3 p.m. on Tuesday. The winner will advance to this weekend's four-team double-elimination tournament to be played at Classie Lassie's softball complex in Wynantskill. Monroe Community College is the tournament's top seed and the defending regional and national champion.

The baseball team finished the regular season with a 25-14 record and is seeded third in the Region III tournament. The Vikings will host No. 6 Schenectady County Community College at 4 p.m. on Tuesday. The winner will advance the four-team double-elimination tournament in Batavia beginning Friday, May 11. Genesee Community College is the tournament's top seed.
